Mrs. Cruz holds a BA in Spanish Language and Literature and ESL degree from the National University of Cordoba, Argentina and a Master in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Trinity College, Washington DC. She is an active member of The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), the Advanced Placement Central (AP Central), the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), and the Local Library Advisory Committee (LAC). Mrs. Cruz wrote the ESL curriculum for the first generation of graduating teachers from the Teacher’s College in Santa Cruz, Argentina. She has worked in private schools and public schools in Montgomery County for 16 years as a Foreign Language Teacher. She has vast experience working for international schools. During her stay at Washington International School, she participated and coordinated the writing of the IB middle years for the Spanish program. At this school, she also taught IB Language and Literature for the Upper School. At present, Mrs. Cruz also teaches AP Language and Literature in one of the county schools. Her programs of studies in AP Language and Literature have been approved and certified by the Advanced Placement Central. Mrs. Cruz has been the Principal of Bethesda International School since its founding in 1998 when it was called The International Children’s Workshop. At present, she is also a Spanish Language Curriculum Writer for Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland. |

Mrs. González has been working as an Administrative Assistant for the Labor and Imigration Affairs Office for the Embassy of Spain since April 2002. She has also worked as an Administrative Assistant for the National Institutes of Health/SOBRAN, as well as the Bethesda International School and the Children’s International Workshop, which served as the foundation of BIS. Once again, Ms. González is working for our school as the Chief Financial Officer. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finances from the University of Maryland. |
